Décima Víctima was a short-lived yet profoundly influential Spanish band whose sound echoed the dark emotional currents of British post-punk icons like Joy Division and The Cure, while remaining uniquely their own. Though they never achieved widespread commercial success, few Spanish acts have matched their artistic cohesion and sonic depth. This limited-edition box set—pressed in just 700 copies—collects all the singles the band released between 1982 and 1984, reissued for the first time in their original formats. The artwork has been thoughtfully revisited by the band members themselves, and the set includes a 12-page booklet offering further insight into their legacy. Décima Víctima’s story began in 1981 in a Madrid cellar, where Carlos Entrena began rehearsing with Lars and Per Mertanen and a drum machine. A few months later, they recorded their first 4-track demo, and soon after—alongside friends from Esclarecidos—they co-founded the independent label Grabaciones Accidentales (GASA), giving them the freedom to release their own music. Their debut single appeared in 1982 with Lars on drums; shortly thereafter, José Brena joined as the full-time drummer. Though their career spanned less than three years, Décima Víctima’s shadow looms large, their influence resonating in the work of later Spanish bands such as Family, Los Planetas, and Sr Chinarro.
