Desinteresse - Onschuld

Onschuld, the first studio album from Dutch coldwave trio Desinteresse. Formed in 2022 by Bart Vranken (bass) and Sem van den Munckhof (vocals/synth/guitar), and joined by drummer Joppe de Swart in 2024, the band evolved from attic-room recordings to full analog production at The Lullabye Factory in Amsterdam, where they embraced 1970s/80s-era methods of tape, amps, and vintage effects. Following two self-released cassettes on their DECADENCE label, Onschuld reflects a deeper exploration of atmosphere and mood over narrative, with Dutch-language lyrics touching on film, literature, and personal reflection. Tracks like Grijze Dromen, Silhouet, and Denkt U? invite open interpretation, their shadows shaped by inspirations ranging from The Cure and Joy Division to the Japanese cult band 少女人形 (Shōjoningyō) and French underground pioneers Trop Tard, whose spirit helped spark Desinteresse’s beginnings.
