Emerging from Istanbul’s underground, Ductape returns with Faded Flowers, their most focused and cinematic work to date. Çağla and Furkan Güleray transform themes of isolation, emotional exhaustion, alienation, and the pressure to conform into a darkly immersive vision of contemporary existence. Fierce synthesizers, cold basslines, expressive guitars, restless rhythms, and Çağla’s distinctive vocals create a sound that is as physical and danceable as it is melancholic, moving through crowded cities and fragmented inner worlds where connection increasingly feels out of reach.
At the heart of Faded Flowers is a portrait of humanity drained by repetition, expectation, manufactured ideals, and emotional numbness. Rather than offering easy resolution, Ductape confronts the false gods and imposed identities of modern life, finding a quiet form of resistance in the refusal to disappear. From the hypnotic pulse of “Fine” and haunting Turkish-language “Gölgesiz” to the darker, confrontational “Obscure,” Ductape refines their distinctive strain of darkwave into something intimate yet expansive—music suspended between inner collapse and the will to keep moving.
