Lathe of Heaven - Aurora

Aurora, the second full-length album from Lathe of Heaven, expands the band’s sound and vision into a series of vivid, emotionally charged vignettes inspired by mid-80s post-punk, underground pop, and literary sci-fi. Recorded with Ben Greenberg and mastered by Brad Boatright, the album blends melodic rock, gothic synth textures, and art-pop flourishes while exploring themes of anti-colonialism, equality, loss, and human resilience. Each track unfolds as its own narrative, drawing from the works of Ursula K. Le Guin, Octavia Butler, and other speculative authors, from dystopian futures to philosophical meditations on identity and meaning.
