Lustmord’s TRINITY is a monumental work of dark ambient built around one of the defining events of the modern age: the first atomic bomb test at Trinity Site, New Mexico. Originally commissioned as a live presentation for Unsound Festival, the album incorporates location recordings from Los Alamos and White Sands, archival material obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, and the voice of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Deep drones, environmental recordings, and ominous sonic textures create an immersive meditation on nuclear power, human destruction, and the shadow cast by the bomb across the modern world. This 2026 edition pairs the album with a beautifully produced 48-page fine art hardcover book featuring an extensive collection of photographs from the Los Alamos National Laboratory Archive, making TRINITY as compelling an archival document as it is a landmark of experimental sound.
