Modern Violet - Without Ghosts

The Modern Violet is the post-punk and gothic rock solo project of Tim Nyss, a multi-instrumentalist, artist, and producer originally from England and now based in the hills of Kanton Bern, Switzerland. Tim's extensive musical background includes his critically acclaimed experimental metal project Nyss, whose album Depayser earned a spot on numerous album of the year lists. With The Modern Violet, Tim places originality at the forefront, drawing on deep inspirations from artists such as William Burroughs and Francis Bacon and music from Magma, Swans, Throbbing Gristle, Cardiacs, and Killing Joke. These diverse influences fuel his exploration of musicianship and experimentation, crafting music that transcends the ordinary while maintaining a sense of accessibility and enjoyment.
