Ripped Apparition marks Public Memory's evolution into deeper, more introspective territory. Since 2016, the project has explored lo-fi electronica through damaged synthesizers, spectral atmospherics, and Robert Toher's vulnerable vocals. This album strips away excess, centering emotional fragility beneath layers of psychic haze and sonic decay. Tracks like "Epigone," "Midsummer Shadow," and "Butcher" navigate the space between dream and deterioration—rhythmic tension meeting ethereal release, claustrophobia dissolving into spectral reverie. Rather than escaping into nostalgia or imagined futures, Ripped Apparition confronts a degraded present in which loss and uncertainty saturate every moment. The result is hypnotic, unsettling, and profoundly human.
