Skinny Puppy - Rabies

Skinny Puppy’s Rabies is a landmark of late-80s industrial, capturing the band at their most abrasive, claustrophobic, and relentlessly inventive. Released in 1989, the album fuses distorted electronics, punishing rhythms, samples, and Nivek Ogre’s unhinged vocal delivery into a uniquely corrosive sound, with the unmistakable influence of Ministry’s Al Jourgensen adding an extra layer of industrial aggression. From the pummeling “Tin Omen” and “Warlock” to the sinister tension of “Hexonxonx,” Rabies remains one of Skinny Puppy’s most visceral and influential releases—a defining record in the evolution of industrial music and a crucial document of the genre’s late-80s transformation.
